December 1 – in honor of the 35th anniversary of granting the Karakalpak language the status of the state language, students of the Karakalpak Language and Literature Department of the Uzbek Language and Literature Faculty of Navoi State University held a literary and artistic event. This event occupies a special place as it serves the students’ respect for their motherland and native language. Professors and lecturers of the faculty expressed the opinion that language is a priceless asset of the nation.
For reference: on December 1, 1989 Karakalpak language was given the status of the state language, and Uzbek and Karakalpak languages are used as state languages in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The law about “The State Emblem” was approved by the 10-th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 2, 1992.
The law about “The State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted on November 18 in 1991 in the 8th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan.
