On October 21 – on the occasion of the Uzbek language holiday, a ceremony of laying flowers and a solemn event at the foot of the statue of great thinker Alisher Navoi was held in Navoi Park of Culture and Recreation. It was attended by regional activists, linguists, writers and poets, groups of organizations and institutions, and representatives of the general public. The staff of Navoi State Pedagogical Institute also took an active part and paid tribute by laying a wreath at the statue of Alisher Navoi. Then Rector of the University, Professor Mukhiddin Kalonov made a speech and congratulated the gathered on this significant day.
The law about “The State Emblem” was approved by the 10-th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 2, 1992.
The law about “The State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted on November 18 in 1991 in the 8th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan.
