Taking into account the need for pedagogical personnel in the Navoi region, in 1983, the Navoi branch of the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute was established in the city of Navoi. The Faculty of Foreign Languages was founded in 1997 on the basis of the “Faculty of Uzbek Language and History” and is one of the most active and prominent faculties of the institute. By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 28, 1992, the Navoi branch of the Nizami Tashkent State Pedagogical Institute was granted the status of the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute. The Faculty of Foreign Languages was established on the basis of the decision of the Scientific Council of the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute No. 12 of July 28, 1997. Initially, the faculty was headed by Professor T. J. Yusupov, Ph.D., Associate Professor in 1998-1999. R. J. Akhmedova, Ph.D. in 2000-2004. F.N. Najmiddinov, Ph.D. in 2005-2009. O’.A. Oripov, Ph.D. in 2010-2014, Associate Professor Q.D. Tokhtaeva, Z.D. in 2015-2020. Erdanovlar, and with the decision of Council No. 1 of the scientific council of the institute dated August 31, 2021, the Faculty of Foreign Languages was divided into two, and a separate faculty became “English Language and Literature”. From the academic year 2021-2022, the faculty will be joined by an associate professor, f.f.n. I.M. Shodiyev, from February 2024, prof. Q. D. Tokhtaeva is leading.
Currently, there are 3 departments in the faculty: “English language and literature”, “English language and practical course”, “Inter-faculty foreign languages” departments, a total of 67 professors and teachers work in these departments, 54 of them work in the main state. they take The scientific potential of the faculty is 9%, including 1557 full-time, evening, master’s degree students, of which 1411 are girls and 146 are boys. The study process at the faculty is organized in 3 shifts, and the total capacity of educational buildings (student places) is 990 people. Currently, the faculty is training bachelor’s and master’s pedagogues in the field of “Foreign language and literature: English”. Today, the faculty of English language and literature has become one of the leading faculties of our republic, the center of science, spirituality and enlightenment of the region. In the short period of time, the faculty has been training qualified pedagogues with higher education for many areas of the country’s economy, in particular, education, spirituality and culture. In the years of independence, the number of pedagogues graduated from the faculty is more than 5 thousand. At the moment, specialists trained by the Faculty of English and Natural Sciences of the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute are selflessly working in all stages of the continuous education system, in the fields of higher, secondary special and vocational education.
In 2021-2023, scientists and researchers of the faculty successfully defended 5 PhD theses. Only during this period, the teaching staff of the faculty created 6 monographs, 6 textbooks, 10 manuals and many other educational literature.
Spiritual and educational work at the faculty is carried out on the basis of the implementation of the Action Strategy in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 and 5 important initiatives put forward by our President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev. In order for students to effectively spend their free time, competitions “The most active reader”, “Kuvnog va zukkolar”, “Zakovat”, “Student theater studio” are regularly held. In order to develop and popularize sports, music and art education among students, a number of events are held. In order to form universal human values among students, with the participation of teachers of the faculty and students, a system of material and moral support has been established for the “Nursing Home” and “Nursing Home” in the district. Based on the principle “One intellectual, one spiritual patron of one region”, put forward by the President of our country Sh. Mirziyoyev at his video elections held on January 19, 2021, professors and teachers of the faculty are attached to the “Victory” of the city of Navoi, and in constant cooperation with them are held spiritual and educational events.
Effective work with talented students has been established at the faculty, and students are achieving high results in various fields. Students of the faculty regularly win prestigious contests of the republic. In the 2022-23 academic year, the 4th grade student Shemchuk won the state scholarship named after Alyona Navoi. 2nd grade student Jalolova Lobar became the winner of the state award named after Zulfia. Hamidova Marjona, a student of the 4th stage, became the world champion in the sport of “Taekwondo” and won the “Student of the Year” in sports at the 2022 NDPI.
The law about “The State Emblem” was approved by the 10-th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 2, 1992.
The new state emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan was created to reflect the many centuries of experience of the Uzbek people.
The state emblem of the Republic presents the image of the rising sun over a flourishing valley. Two rivers run through the valley, representing the Syrdarya and Amudarya. The emblem is bordered by wheat on the right side and branches of cotton with opened cotton bolls on the left side.
The eight-angle star is at the top of the emblem, symbolizing the unity and confirmation of the republic. The crescent and star inside the eight-pointed star are the sacred symbols of Islam. The mythical bird Semurg with outstretched wings is placed in the center of the emblem as the symbol of the national Renaissance. The entire composition aims to express to desire of the Uzbek people for peace, happiness and prosperity. At the bottom of the emblem inscribed the word “Uzbekistan” written in Uzbek on a ribbon in the national colors of the flag.
The law about “The State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted on November 18 in 1991 in the 8th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan.
The flag of our country is a symbol of the sovereignty of the Republic. The national flag of the Republic represents the country internationally when official delegations from Uzbekistan visit foreign countries, as well as at conferences, world exhibition, and sports competitions.
The national flag of the Republic is a right-angled colored cloth of three horizontal stripes: blue, white and green.
Blue is the symbol of the sky and water, which are the main source of life. Mainly, blue was the color of the state flag of Temur.
White is the traditional symbol of peace and good luck, as Uzbek people say “Ok yul”.
Green is the color of nature and new life and good harvest.
Two thin red stripes symbolize the power of life.
There is a new moon, which symbolizes the newly independent Republic.
There are twelve stars, which stand for spiritual sign. The stars also signify the historical traditions of the Uzbek people, as well as ancient solar calendar. A particular attention to twelve stars in the flag is explained yet by another suggestion, that in the states previously existed in the territory of modern Uzbekistan the scientific thought as “Astrology” had seen its rise. The stars in the Uzbek flag also point to the ancient roots of local culture, the aspirations of Uzbek people towards perfection and loyalty.
The law “On national anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted on the December 10, 1992 at the 11th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan.
