A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Navoi State Pedagogical Institute and the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection of Societies of Uzbekistan within the regional association of Navoi region.
In the outline of this memorandum, it was emphasized that the effective implementation of state policy aimed at protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, ensuring the fulfillment of tasks outlined in promoting citizen’s rights and benefits in the field of education and science, maintaining public oversight over the execution of responsibilities dedicated to promoting protection of the rights and interests of consumers in the field of education and science, as well as collaboration in monitoring the effective and timely implementation of goals and tasks identified within the “UZBEKISTAN – 2030” Strategy, which was approved by the Presidential Decree No. PF-158 on September 11, 2023.
During the meeting, the following areas of cooperation were identified to be implemented:
- Developing various initiatives involving broad social organizations and institutions, including professional representatives within the field of vocational, higher education, and science in shaping consumer culture;
- Proposing recommendations to eliminate existing shortcomings to the government and other state authorities in rectifying infringed rights of consumers in vocational, higher education, and science sectors according to the law;
- Enhancing the legal literacy level of consumers through organizing seminars, roundtable discussions, public events, and other activities among professional, higher education, and science staff, as well as the wider population;
- Collaborating to improve consumers’ legal knowledge and consumer culture among students;
- Organizing diverse scientific studies and research related to issues concerning the protection of consumers’ rights;
- Collaborating in organizing activities to enhance public understanding of the content and significance of agreements being concluded in the educational field in the country as part of the cooperation objectives.
