A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING was signed between the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom and the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute.

     It is known that the United Kingdom is one of the most developed and leading countries not only in the field of industry and politics, but also in the field of education. In particular, the University of Sunderland is a world leader in pedagogy. A meeting with the University of Sunderland in the UK was organized on September 17, 2021 this year through the ZOOM platform.


The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Uzbekistan to the UK Said Rustamov, Rector of Navoi State Pedagogical Institute Bahodir Sobirov, professors of Sunderland University: John McIntyre, Jamie Simpson, Neil Johnson, as well as Vice-Rectors of NavSPI: Dilshod Ruziev, Sodik Khujjiev, Head of Educational and Methodological Department Bayot Khosilov. Head of the Department of Literature Saodat Khasanova and Head of the Department of International Relations Dilbar Jumaeva.

As a result of this cooperation, educational institutions implement joint projects; it was agreed to establish student exchanges, send professors and teachers for internships to participate in international certification courses in foreign language teaching, send Sunderland University graduates to NavSPI for internships and exchange of experience.In addition, it was agreed to open a master’s degree program in Foreign Language Teaching (TESOL) based on program exchange and scientific cooperation, joint 0.5 +0.5 (6 + 6) programs.

Other projects of mutual interest will be implemented during the cooperation. This meeting is important in establishing strategic cooperation between the two higher education institutions in a mutually beneficial scientific and educational environment and is consistent with future and goals.We believe that the cooperation between the two sides in the field of education, described in the Memorandum, will contribute to the successful development of comprehensive relations between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom.
