In 2000, at the Faculty of History, the departments of “History of Uzbekistan” and “General History” were established, which on February 28, 2015 were merged into the department of “History Teaching Methodology”. The chair since February 28, 2015 X.R.Kurbanov, since August 26, 2015, associate professor R.M.Karshiev. Since August 27, 2018, associate professor A.M.Aminova holds the position of head of the department. Since 2023, the department has been renamed the Department of “History”.
In the department “History” in 2023-2024 academic year from 37 teachers 26 of them work in the main staff, 9 on an internal basis and 2 – on an external basis. Of these, 1 Doctor of History (DSc), 1 Professor, 7 Associate Professors, 6 Doctor of History (PhD), 2 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), 8 Senior Lecturers and 12 Lecturers. Women make up 41% of the faculty in the department.
In the academic year 2023-2024 the teaching staff of the chair teaches students of bachelor’s degree in the educational directions 60111100-“History”, 60111100-“History, additional state law”, 5110600 – “History” and master’s degree in the specialty 701101101 – “methodology of teaching social and humanities (History)” on 27 subjects.
The department establishes cooperation with leading higher educational institutions of the world, organizes lesson, scientific seminars of their professors and teachers for students.
The scientific potential of the teaching staff of the department “History” in 2023-2024 academic year amounted to 46%, of which 1 – Scopus; 5 – Web of Science; 17 – in scientific journals with a high impact factor; 26 – In journals under the auspices of the UAC, 123-scientific articles and abstracts at international and national conferences printed. Articles of 7 professors and lecturers working at the department are indexed in the Hirsch index (H-index) with high indexes.

The law about “The State Emblem” was approved by the 10-th session of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Uzbekistan on July 2, 1992.
The law about “The State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was adopted on November 18 in 1991 in the 8th session of the Supreme Council of Uzbekistan.
